Sacred Valley

The Sacred Valley is the name given to the Urubamba River valley and includes a lot of significant Inca sites. Pisac, Ollantaytambo and of course Machu Picchu along with a lot of other places we didn't visit.

When you come over the mountains you can see why the Inca's named it that. Wide, fertile and of course, easy access along the edge of the river.

We came in at Cusco, travelled up to Pisac, then back down to Ollantaytambo before catching a train to Aguas Calientes, visiting Machu Picchu, then heading back to Cusco.
